Athens Acropolis photo gallery

The Acropolis of Athens is situated on a rocky hill at a height of 156 meters above sea level, while the height of the hill is 70 meters higher than the average level of the city. At the top of the Acropolis hill, where stands the temple of the Parthenon, there is a level trapezoid approximately 300 meters with a maximum width of 150 meters. The hill is a natural fortress since it is steep and inaccessible from all sides, except the west side, where is the entrance to the Acropolis, the Propylaia.
